Integrated Policy Statement (Quality, Environment and Safety)

The Directors of Impresa FRATELLI BARRETTA DI DOMENICO E GIOVANNI SRL in the persons of the Directors Mr. Rosalba Barretta and Mr. Giovanni Barretta

Taking into consideration

  • That the Masters of the naval units have full authority to take all actions they autonomously deem necessary for the protection of people, goods, ships, and the environment.
  • That the internal and external factors, the needs and expectations of the interested parties, and the environmental impacts of the activities provided by the Company, with which this Policy is consistent, have been identified.
  • That the Company has issued an Extended Privacy Notice fulfilling the requirements of the European Privacy Regulation and that the current Privacy risk assessment does not require changes and is therefore confirmed.

Communicate

That to strengthen and improve its market position in the provision of harbour and deep-sea towage services, supply vessel services, recovery and salvage, anti-pollution, and firefighting services, they ensure the availability of necessary resources and renew the appointment of the Quality, Environment and Safety Management Systems Manager to Mr. Danilo Di Giorgio who will report directly to the Management. The Management sets the following objectives:

  • Customer satisfaction;
  • Punctuality/timeliness and completeness of the services offered by the Organization;
  • The continuous increase of the company's technological level (purchase of new equipment, plants, etc.);
  • The efficiency of internal processes;
  • The prevention and protection against pollution;
  • The control and/or reduction (for the same number of tows performed) of environmental impacts and health and safety risks for workers as determining elements for the continuous improvement of the services provided to its Customers/Clients aimed at their full satisfaction. In particular, significant environmental aspects are considered emissions into the atmosphere, consumption of electricity, consumption of diesel and lubricating oil, waste management. Maintaining the absence of accidents and disabling occupational diseases are also considered significant aspects;
  • The prevention of accidents and occupational diseases;
  • Avoiding injury to persons and loss of human life.

Impresa FRATELLI BARRETTA DOMENICO E GIOVANNI SRL is therefore committed to:

  • Periodically reviewing this policy, based on improvement results;
  • Fulfilling compliance obligations, sometimes anticipating their evolution;
  • Disseminating the concepts of quality, environmental protection, and safeguarding health and safety in the workplace inside and outside the Organization.

Remembering that these objectives and commitments are aimed at Customer satisfaction, but also at creating new job opportunities, maximum cooperation from everyone is trusted.

From what has been mentioned above, the Management sets the objectives for quality, environment, and safety at least during the annual reviews of the management systems. These objectives are sometimes better identified in specific objective sheets. The achievement and maintenance of the objectives is constantly pursued through training and information activities for personnel at all levels.

All personnel, each within their own responsibilities and consistent with the context in which the Company operates, must commit to:

  • Pursuing the objectives set by the Management with a view to continuous improvement of the Management System in order to improve its performance;
  • Operating in compliance with laws, rules, and regulations;
  • Pursuing environmental protection including pollution prevention;
  • Facilitating the information, education, and training process to ensure the application of the Management Systems even in emergency situations;
  • Minimizing health and safety risks for workers through training programs, consultation and participation, and the use of appropriate work organization measures.

Maintaining where possible an approach to safety management based on a "no blame culture", according to which, in case of errors committed involuntarily, the emphasis is placed more on the causes than on the faults.

Specific objectives are disseminated by the Management to all employees and subjects working on behalf of the Company.

The Company confirms zero tolerance regarding the use of drugs on board. Regarding the use of alcohol, the Company prohibits the crew from consuming alcohol. Reaffirming that the limit of alcohol in the worker's blood must not exceed 0.3 g/l, giving mandate to the Competent Doctor to carry out the necessary checks during Health Surveillance in compliance with current legislation.

The integrated company policy, subject to periodic reviews following changes in the Organization and the context in which it operates, is disclosed to all internal and external operators, customers, and suppliers, and, in any case, all internal personnel participate in meetings aimed at increasing awareness of the company's Management Systems.
